A.R. Program Requirements      posted 09-07-2010

All students are required to participate in the A.R. program this year. For this program, students will be required to choose and read books from the A.R. list based on their reading levels and ranges. The deadline for the 3rd nine weeks is February 25th. The expectations are as follows:

1st 9 weeks: 1 A.R. book and test, and one book report*
2nd 9 weeks: 1 A.R. book, A.R. test, one project from the project list
3rd 9 weeks: 1 A.R. book, A.R. test, one project from the project list
4th 9 weeks: 1 A.R. books, A.R. test on both book, one project from the project list



The projects must be based on one of the A.R. books for those 9 weeks.

A.R. Projects
1. Book report: Must use book report form provided by teacher.
2. Timeline: Use a timeline to sequence the major events of the story. Must be done on poster board. Neatness and creativity count.
3. Write and present a convincing book review that will cause the other students to want to read the book. One-page typed and double-spaced.
4. Make a chart (poster, PowerPoint, etc.) of similarities and differences of major and minor characters. Neatness and creativity count.
5. Research your book's author. Type a one-page biography of the author, double-spaced.
