Notes for All Classes      posted 09-13-2016

All homework should be written in the assignment planner. Check off each assignment as it is completed. Spread assignments out over the week. REMEMBER TO BRING THE COMPLETED ASSIGNMENTS (AND YOUR BINDERS) AND TEXTS TO CLASS.

See individual class links on this site for homework details and study practice links and information. Scroll down to see all posted under each subject blog.

Please email me whenever you have questions about homework. I will get back to you as soon as possible.

♦CLASS POLICIES:
TURNING IN ASSIGNMENTS:
-PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ASSIGNMENTS WITH YOUR FOR CLASS.
-The student is responsible to hand in all assignments to the teacher when they are due and to make up any missed assignments.
-The student is expected to tell the teacher the day of class if he/she does not have an assignment.

ASSIGNMENT ORGANIZATION:
-Make sure that your name and date are on every worksheet and assignment.
-Please staple separate pages at home from the same assignment that are to be turned in.

DOING HOMEWORK:
-All classes involve study and practice. This is a vital part of learning. Please schedule study and practice into your work week.
-Please communicate with the teacher if you have any homework, study, or assignment concerns. We care about you and want to know how it's going.
-Check the edHelper website at least once a week if you have internet access to check homework assignments, notes for class, and study links. It is recommended to check edHelper again towards the end of the week to make sure all correct homework was completed. If anything seems unclear, email the teacher to confirm.
-Expect homework every week. When in doubt, check the website, call a student in the class, and/or email me. In case of snow day absence, check this site for assignments. Email if you are uncertain.
-Workbook assignments in grammar class should be corrected before coming to class.

MATERIALS:
-Please make sure you have a working red pen or red pencil at all classes.
-Students are expected to have and use an assignment planner and to write assignments down in class as they are given.

GRADING:
-Lead pencils may not be on the desk while we are correcting in class.
-Once grading has begun in class, answers may not be erased or changed - except in red.

BEHAVIOR:
-During class, students should not be talking to others, drawing, or doing other activities not related to the class discussion and activity. These are distracting to others, do not show respect to the class, and do not benefit your own understanding of the material.
-Please participate in class discussions and activities related to the lesson. Every student is important.
-Please maintain kind, respectful behavior towards all students and the teacher.

♦ASSIGNMENT MUSTS:
-Answers should make sense. Read them to yourself (aloud) to check if they do.
-Make sure each assignment is complete and kept in a safe place.
-Write all assignments in planner and check off each assignment as it is finished as written.
-Check the edHelper site blog at least once a week for assignments, notes, important information, practice, and links...if you can access it.
-Answers should be checked, corrected, and fixed in red if answers are given in the workbook.
-Keep focused on what you're actually supposed to do in an assignment.
-Read and reread directions carefully throughout the assignment.
-Seek to spell correctly. Use your spellchecker at home to check for spelling using the 95% rule. Please bring it to classes.
-Make sure you have all assignments, books, and workbooks with you when coming to class.
-If you're missing something or not certain about something, ask a classmate and/or email Mrs. Cerimele. Plan to use your best tools for the job.

♦Participation in a class implies that all given policies are accepted.
Thank you for your understanding and support of class policies. We're glad that you're here!

Be faithful in small things, for it is in them that our strength lies. -Mother Teresa of Calcutta

Quizlet Access & Description      posted 09-13-2016
Quizlet Link - then choose your class and current list for study

I have made study QUIZLETS of the terms and concepts for many of the classes. You don't need to be a member to use the Quizlet site to study the sets. You can also join FREE as a member and make your own sets for this class or any other class or use previously made sets that other members have created for them to study. No identifying information is requested and it's a fairly easy setup. You just need an email and to create a password.

To access the quiz set, go to: quizlet.com. The class name is: CerimeleK.

For our two classes, your student should go to the FOLDER (not the CLASS) for the current Quizlets we’re working on. I will add each story or Quizlet practice to the particular folder as we go so students don’t become confused about just what to study and practice.

You can use it as a study or quiz with "flashcards", use as an online "Test," play practice games, etc. Quizlet also offers the option of speech. There are hundreds of premade quizzes made by other teachers and students you can use for free besides the option of making your own. Students can make and take their own practice tests which can be printed out or can be taken online and then check the answers.

It is suggested to pull the link button for quizlet and edHelper onto your computer desktop or bookmark them so it is easier to access without having to type in the site address all the time. It is also suggested to check through any study quiz made by a person other than me to check its content for appropriateness for the student's study level, need, and content.
