Definitions

  action verb        tells what action the subject of a sentence is doing. This action can be either physical (run, dance, jump) or mental (think, believe, want).

  adjective   (ajihktihv) noun,adjective    Describes a noun or a pronoun.

  adverb   (advurb) noun   
1.  modifies a verb, adjective, or another adverb; answers the questions : when?, where?, how?, and to what extent?
2.  a group of words that modify a verb, adjective or other adverb, often ending in "-ly"

  antecedent   (antEHsuhduhnt) noun,adjective    the word or words that a pronoun stands for

  appositive        Nouns (or words that funciton as nouns), often set apart by commas, that explain or identify the previous noun
