ACE Response Format for Reading and Literature

-An ACE response in reading and literature will come after a selected text has been read. There is a question or questions that will give the student an opportunity to demonstrate comprehension from the selected reading. This allows the teacher to check for understanding of what was read.

A…Answer the question. (Correctly of course, re-read if necessary)
C…Cite evidence from the text to support your answer. (Include evidence from the text to prove your answer is correct.)
E…Expand your answer. (Use background knowledge, experiences, thoughts, and your own opinions to expand your answer.)
